UNIFIED DEVELOPMENT ORDINANCE IN EFFECT AS OF AUGUST 30TH, 2021

Transitional Period: The new ordinance “UDO” took effect on August 30, 2021. Any development application submitted and accepted as complete prior to August 30th but still pending final action shall be reviewed and decided in accordance with the regulations in effect when the application accepted. Any development approvals granted prior to August 30th shall remain valid until their expiration date. All new submittals on or after August 30th will be reviewed in accordance with the UDO. For more information on the transitional period, please see Section 17-1.8 of the UDO. 

The Land Development Division of Planning and Development Services reviews group/individual commercial and group residential developments, mixed-use planned unit developments, and residential/commercial subdivisions for compliance with the City of Columbia Unified Development Code. The Land Development Division also coordinates the review of major and minor subdivisions and street naming.

All subdivisions, site plans, and street names submitted on or after August 30, 2021 must be submitted with the new applications, checklists, and letter of agency found on this website.  Application forms, checklists, and letter of agencies utilized prior to August 30, 2021 will no longer be accepted.
