Payments

Payments for permits and associated fees can be made in person or online.  This includes payments for:

  • Re-Inspection fees
  • Building and Zoning Permits
  • Plan Review and Plat Fees
  • All other invoiced development fees

Online payments may be made 24/7 via the Access Columbia portal.

In-person payments can be made at the Development Center, which is located on the first floor of 1339 Main Street, Columbia, SC 29201 during regular business hours (8:30 AM – 5:30 PM, Monday – Friday).

PAYMENTS ACCEPTED:

  • In-person: Cash, Check, Money Order, Credit Card *
  • Online: Credit Card, Electronic Check

*EFFECTIVE NOVEMBER 1, 2016:  To continue to provide our customers the ability to make in-office  payments with debit or credit cards, the City of Columbia has partnered with Value Payment Systems (VPS), a third party service provider.  In so doing, a new Convenience Fee will be charged for all Debit Card (1.5%) and Credit Card (2.5%) payments.  There is a $1.95 Minimum Fee with this service.  If you do not wish to use this service, you may pay the City of Columbia directly by other traditional methods such as cash or check.
